An autogenous vaccine is a custom-made livestock vaccine that is formulated containing specific antigens affecting a herd or region. Manufactured and distributed under strict USDA guidelines, an autogenous vaccine is often used when a commercial vaccine is unavailable or inadequate and must undergo strict quality and safety testing prior to release.
Cambridge Technologies uses industry-leading diagnostic technology and manufacturing practices to bring our autogenous vaccines to innovative veterinarians and livestock producers. Our goals are to identify emerging pathogens, prevent diseases they may cause, and reduce dependence on antibiotics. The process begins in our diagnostic laboratory, where we utilize the latest technology to identify and characterize pathogens. This information is used to select candidates for a herd-specific vaccine containing the antigens that will best combat the specific disease threats.
Our vaccines are customized to the specific needs of each customer, from the included antigens to the adjuvant, dose size, route of administration, bottle size, and label color. And with continued diagnostic monitoring we can change the product formulations as diseases shift over time and new threats arise.
