Casper’s Calf Ranch is a contract research operation for researching new products, feed additives, and programs for neonatal and grower calves. The facility can feed milk to 192 calves in Calf-Tel hutches and 90 grower calves in 18 Super Hutches using a pen based feeding system. Weekly body weights for calf hutches and biweekly for super hutches along with daily feed intakes are collected in addition to frame measureents and daily health scores. Blood, fecal and rumen samples can be collected if needed per project. Studies are conducted in order to be published in scientific journals when requested by the study sponsors.
